Finally my classes end. I received 2 A’s and I sit here on a friday night knowing I don’t have to get anything ready for class on monday night. Phewwwwwwwww. I’m exhausted but finally relieved they are over with. I want to check out that new harukorean.com website the ttmik folks have recently started. Not sure what it’s really all about, but looking forward to checking them out.
I have been looking at the Test your korean level 1 & 2 dialogs over at talktomeinkorean.com and am really impressed. I think when you have dialogs that you are able to comprehend more than not it’s really pump’s you up and material like this I think has been sorely lacking out there in the korean language learning area. I see from all the comments I’m not alone in that thought. Hope they make that a regular series as I tend to tune out completely listening to my itouch to korean podcasts during time at work when I’m just sitting at my desk, but even with these 2 short dialogues I was really pumped listening to material I know almost all while listening. Great feeling and makes me realize I have learned stuff while slow at times I do know some korean after all.
I’d like to see tttmik expand that series and use that technique for alot of their lessons. Teach some grammer points, teach some vocab and put a 5 – 10 minute dialog together using that instead of learning material and then being thrown into the deep end of the pool and knowing 1-2 percent of a conversation in a podcast, movie, whatever.
I also checked out my subscription to koreanclass101.com and see I have till march and turned off my account to automatically renew. I’ll probably used that money to get a subscription to harukorean.com just to support those guys whether I find it helpful or not. I don’t really use koreanclass101 except for the audio dictionary and although at times I try some intermediate lessons it’s not clicking on many levels with me. We’ll see if I use them again but now I way behind on grammer patterns on ttmik website I’ll probably use their site exclusively. Lingq has been a disappintment with material, ling8 I never found useful as people correcting stuff ability in the language were all over ‘THE PLACE’. Nothing like having corrections done to your writings by a person from another country than the one your practicing on.
I haven’t been able to find anything to watch that I like in the longest time (in korean obviously). I need a drama that I find interesting. Some more movies something. It’s been a long dry spell. I downloaded Dig or Die from d-moviez.com last night and gave up on the movie after 10 minutes….bad. I need to spend some time catching up on http://hangukdrama.wordpress.com/ posts as I haven’t read her stuff in awhile and I always find her stuff helpful and interesting.
Now I have to get a 맥주. Later
